Cosmetic Dentistry
…with beautiful natural-looking results.
Trust Dr. Silvaggio to get your smile looking its best. As a Prosthodontist, he has specialized, intensive training and experience in all aspects of cosmetic dentistry, including:
Porcelain veneers – Dr. Silvaggio uses porcelain veneers to create dramatic, yet natural-looking results for people with gapped, chipped or permanently discolored teeth. They are a fantastic way to repair or enhance the appearance of front teeth. Veneers are thin shells of porcelain that are etched and then bonded to the enamel of the teeth. Slight tooth preparation is necessary to avoid an over-bulky appearance of the tooth. Tooth preparation is limited to the enamel and usually involves only a few surfaces of the tooth.
Inlays & onlays – Porcelain inlays and onlays not only look better than fillings, they can actually strengthen your teeth, as well.
Tooth colored (composite) fillings – Bonded resin-based composite is the newest alternative available for fillings. These fillings not only look more natural (since they are tooth colored, not the traditional silver amalgam) they also provide better protection for your teeth as they seal better, insulate against hot and cold better and if they wear down, are easier to repair. We can replace your old, unsightly silver fillings with tooth colored composite fillings. Indeed many of our patients elect to do this while undergoing a cosmetic or restorative improvement on their front teeth. Please feel free to discuss this with Dr. Silvaggio during your appointment with him.
